Ramadan in Ottawa (August 16, 2009)
This event took place on Sunday August 16th, 2009 and helped introduce the Holy Month of Ramadan to the general public.

We are pleased to announce that the ‘Ramadan in Ottawa' event was a great success. There were approximately 100 guests in attendance. The event was hosted by the Ottawa Muslim Association (OMA) and its sub-committee, Ramadan Ottawa.

Imam Khaled Alazhary (Imam of the Ottawa Mosque) and Sheikh Abdelsalam Elminyawi (President of the Muslim Council of Montreal) provided knowledgeable and insightful presentations to all who were in attendance and keenly answered a variety of questions posed by the audience. The event closed off with guests enjoying plenty of refreshments and a wide array of delicious food from various cultural backgrounds.

Alhamdilil'Allah, we received a lot of positive feedback from our guests and look forward to holding similar events in the future Insha'Allah!

4th Annual OMA BBQ (July 19, 2009)

We would like to thank all of you who attended the 4th Annual OMA BBQ at Vincent Massey Park on July 19, 2009. The event was a great success! We had over 200 visitors and raised approximately $4,000 in donations for the Ottawa Main Mosque. The day was filled with lots of delicious food, fun activities, prizes for the kids, and beautiful weather for all to enjoy Alhamdili'Allah. We look forward to holding many more successful events in the near future Insha’Allah. Jazakum Allah Khairan again for all of your support.

La Ronde Trip by Muslims in Action (MiA) & OMA (June 20, 2009)
This event was a great trip and over 50 people attended!  Positive feedback from some of the youth was received and all were really glad that this event took place.  Imam Khaled also attended and it provided a great opportunity for the youth to meet and interact with the Imam.

With the help of Allah SWT, we were also able to raise a profit of $200 from this trip, and all proceeds were donated to the mosque.
